Editorial Policy

Every page on RomeoAndJulietLaw.us is produced under written editorial standards. This page documents how we research, write, review, and update legal information.

Last Updated:

Sourcing

We rely first on primary sources — official state code, U.S. statutes, and federal/state appellate opinions. Secondary sources (Cornell LII, ABA, DOJ, RAINN, NCSL) are used for context and cross-verification only.

Author and reviewer separation

Our Legal Research Team writes content. A separate Editorial Review Team verifies it against primary sources before publication.

Update cadence

State pages are reviewed at least quarterly. Pages affected by legislative sessions are reviewed within 30 days of session adjournment.

Independence

We are not a law firm and do not accept compensation for editorial recommendations. Display advertising is clearly labeled and never influences content.

Plain-language commitment

We write at an 8th-grade reading level wherever the law allows. Where legal precision requires technical terminology, we define it in our glossary.
